ETF Scout

ETF Scout is an actively managed portfolio
system using exchange traded funds

ETF Scout was designed from the ground up to exceed the S&P 500 Index.

This is an important benchmark for investors as
approximately 80% of all mutual fund managers fail
to meet this standard of investment performance.

*Performance figures are based on a model portfolio for ETF Scout.  Client portfolio returns  will vary slightly from the model portfolio. At times higher than average volatility may occur.  Performance figures reported for both ETF Scout and the S&P 500  Index  do not include dividends, management fees or trading expenses.  It is not possible to invest directly into either ETF Scout or the S&P 500  Index.  A complete transaction history for ETF Scout is available upon request. Past performance does not guarantee future results. Not FDIC insured, you may lose value, or may under perform the S&P 500 Index.

ETF Scout’s distinct advantage over most mutual fund investments is that our strategy will consistently move into better performing sectors in order to take advantage of the one “constant” in investment management - change.

Most money managers suffer as their investment style goes out of favor.  In statistical-terms this is known as “return to the mean” or regression.  Investors know this simply as underperforming or losing money.  Our relentless pursuit of identifying where the money is going, not where the money has been, makes ETF Scout a logical choice as an ETF portfolio manager for people who simply want to make more money on their investments.

ETF Scout was specifically designed to out perform the S&P 500 index.

To ensure that ETF Scout exceeds the index, our process monitors the 10 sectors in the S&P 500 index. ETF Scout includes only the better performing sectors in the portfolio. Underperformers are dropped from the portfolio, which makes room for ETF Scout to include better performing sectors outside of the S&P 500 index.  In addition to the ten sectors in the S&P 500 index, ETF Scout includes, small and mid cap stocks, foreign stocks and specialty sectors such as real estate and natural resources. To add further diversification and safety, ETF Scout also monitors four different bond portfolios. In total, ETF Scout monitors 25 different sectors of the U.S. and World economy; only the ten best performers make it into the portfolio.

Our process of monthly monitoring, and updating, allows the ETF Scout portfolio to drift from one investment style to another and take advantage of changes in the economic cycle and various market conditions.  Monthly evaluations force all of the 25 investment sectors we follow to compete for the 10 slots that are available in the ETF Scout portfolio. To assure “wise diversification,” the ETF Scout program is designed for no more than 40% of the portfolio to be concentrated in essentially similar asset types. Typically, half the portfolio program is actively searching for “the next big trend,” while the other half is benefiting from current trends.
